It was erected in honor of Italian immigrants who strove to work and enrich the land. It is the first locomotive that came to San Rafael in 1903. Front and back of this square is located the Municipal Railway Museum and the Craft Market .
In front of the Plaza is the Municipal Railway Museum , working in the building of the ancient railway station, which is designed with three rooms: the history of the city , the railway and the last room for exhibitions by local artists.
Cathedral of St. Rafael Archangel
Located opposite the Plaza San Martin at the intersection of the street and the street Belgrano Pellegrini , has a neocolonial style, and construction began in 1935 to culminate in 1952. To the right of the Cathedral is the Torre San Marco, which was donated by the family in 1952 Viñuela .
Monsignor Ernesto Vicente de Miguel, worked hard in building the Cathedral (1911-1996) , with its pastor from 1941 to 1985. His body is buried outside the entrance, to the right, where a wall of black marble.
CTC- Building Cable Color Television Station
This huge building , colonial style with green bars, opened in 1928 as the National Mortgage Bank. Truly worth visiting inside , appreciating the time ornaments and wall moldings of yellow and white color.
It lies on the intersection of Chambers Street and Commander Day .
Hipólito Yrigoyen Park
Just 10 blocks from kilometer zero is this great green , inside there is a special area for entertaining children with playgrounds, the Monument to the Argentine Gaucho , Statue Harvest , a sports center with outdoor pool swimming , a small residence for athletes and the Plaza del Tango. The Greek Theatre, “Chacho Santa Cruz ” is also located, with a stage in the open and the capacity to hold 10,000 seated spectators . There are numerous artistic and cultural shows are performed.
Parque Mariano Moreno
A 7 km. and Diamante River Island , this park amenities offered to residents and visitors , allowing them to better contact with nature is located. Inside there is a small artificial lake with the Grotto of the Immaculate Conception, a Zoological Garden and Camping with all services. The National Museum of Natural History is also in Rio Diamond Island which surrounds this ledge of fertile soil.
