ADVENTURE TOURISM IN SAN RAFAEL
CLIFF DESCENT
This is basically a mountain descent under a cascade. According
to the Aragon Mountaineering Federation, “Barranquismo” is much
more than a sport as it requires a great deal of physical
activity, knowledge of appropriate techniques, team work and
steady character.
Those who dare engage in it reap a sense of fullness and well
being but it also demands a strong commitment with nature and
the comprehension of the geology and biology, the observation of
the environment, recognition of the importance living beings
have as well as rocks. Finally, it is necessary to have the
awareness necessary to care and respect and integration with the
environment.
TIROLESE
This activity consists of crossing a river at a high speed by
hanging on a cable and being secured by a harness.
By doing it over the Atuel River, one gets a very particular
view of the river and of Valle Grande when one arrives at the
more deserted shore. There are several points where this is
practiced and is managed by several local tourist agencies.
PARAPENTE
The Parapente is an ultra light, flexible glider, a sort of
slope air craft as it necessarily needs a slope in order to be
able to take off. It has a long flight autonomy provided
meteorological conditions such as thermal and dynamics for its
permanence in the air.
The conditions in Valle Grande are perfect for this sport.
Flights take placed all year round as long as weather conditions
are not aggressive.
